Muqdisho — – Bitter Clashes between Somalia government forces supported militarily by African Union peacekeepers and Al shabaab fighters on Friday occurred in parts of Somalia’s war-torn capital Mogadishu.
Most of the confrontation, which was very fierce, rocked the neighborhoods of Mogadishu’s Hodan district as heavy gunfire and artillery shell could be heard from war-zones.
The clash is said t have commenced after Somali forces with the help of AU troops launched premeditated attacks on Al shabaab military bases in the seaside capital.
At least 10 people were confirmed dead and more than eight others injured, according to witnesses and local health sources.
No comments related to the confrontation on Friday were available from Somali government, AMISOM or Al shabaab so far.
But, it comes hours after wobbly clam returned to Mogadishu after one of fighting that left more than 10 dead including civilians.
