An Afghan civilian was wounded in a suicide attack in eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday, local officials said.
The incident happened at 07:00 am local time in Bati Koot district of Nangarhar province when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives before reaching his target, Ali Shah Paktiawal, police chief of Nangarhar told TOLOnews.
There are no reports about casualties in the attack, he added.
Meanwhile, officials in Nangarhar hospitals said one civilian who was wounded in the attack was taken to the hospital.
No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Violence has increased in the country and foreign officials warn of a tough year in Afghanistan with potentially significant losses.
