At least 10 people including a village police commander with his bodyguard were killed and 18 other civilians were hurt in an explosion in Kunduz province on Saturday, officials say
Confirming the incident, District Chief of Imam Sahib, Mohammad Ayub Haqyar said that the blast occured at around 10:30 am in the district centre.
Children and women were also among the wounded, he said.
It said that the bomb was attached to a motorcycle, adding that Manan, a village police commander, was the target of the attack.
Northern Kunduz has been the scene of Taliban’s fierce activities and insurgents often target government compounds in the province.
But with the launch of a series of offensives in the north, it seems the Taliban’s momentum is reversed in most parts of that region.
