Seven people were injured, five soldiers and two civilians, in today’s clashes in the south of Yemen, where a revolt for independence is being staged.
Thousands of people are demonstrating in Daleh to ask for the release of the leader of the rebellion, Hassan Baom, who was arrested on Tuesday. The demonstrators tried to block the road that links the capital Sanaa to the port of Aden; the attempt was followed by armed clashes with the army in which two civilians and five troops were wounded.
Armed man attacked a roadblock in the province of Shabwa, injuring two soldiers. The authorities are accusing groups of Muslim extremists. (ANSAmed).
