I want to report on a four-day visit I made to the occupied Palestinian territory and to Israel.
I met Palestinian and Israeli officials as well as affected Palestinians and humanitarian organizations, as well as affected Israelis in Sderot. I also visited communities in Area C of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and in Sderot in Israel. (more…)

West Bank
Israeli forces injured 23 Palestinians, the large majority of them in clashes in East Jerusalem. Since the beginning of 2010, Israeli forces have injured 1,051 Palestinians, up nearly 40 percent from the equivalent period in 2009 (755 injuries). Around half of 2010 injuries took place during confrontations in East Jerusalem. Two members of Israeli forces were also injured this week.

On 20 March 2010, soldiers killed two youths in the village of Iraq Burin, near Nablus . The IDF Spokesperson stated that the two had been killed by rubber-coated metal bullets while participating in a violent, illegal demonstration. Several days after B’Tselem published its findings regarding the incident, which contradicted this statement, the Judge Advocate General’s Office announced a rare decision that the Military Police would investigate the incident.
