KABUL, Afghanistan, March 24 (UPI) — NATO said Thursday it will investigate a police claim a NATO helicopter gunship targeting terrorists killed a child in the eastern Afghan Khost province.
Coalition forces opened fire from the attack helicopter on a car carrying a group of suspected Haqqani network terrorists Wednesday but accidentally hit another vehicle, killing the child, Khost Police Chief Abdul Hakim Esahaqaai told reporters. (more…)

UNITED NATIONS, March 4 (UPI) — There is “serious concern” over claims nine Afghan children were killed in a NATO airstrike, a U.N. special envoy said while calling for a thorough review.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai expressed outrage over reports that nine people were killed by international forces in an attack Tuesday. All of the victims were children, the Afghan president said. (more…)

Two Afghan civilians were killed on Saturday as Taliban militants attacked a NATO-led force patrol in Afghanistan’s Wardak province, 40 Km west of Afghan capital Kabul, the military alliance said.
